How Credits Work

easy 3 min Updated February 25, 2026

ProfileSpider uses a simple credit system: one credit per page processed, regardless of how many profiles are on the page. This guide explains where credits come from, when they are consumed, and how to check your balance.

No technical knowledge required.

Step-by-step

1

Understand the credit model

ProfileSpider charges 1 credit per page you process — not per profile. A page with 1 profile or 200 profiles costs the same single credit.

This makes ProfileSpider dramatically cheaper than per-profile competitors for bulk extraction.

2

Check where credits come from

Credits come from three sources: subscription grants (monthly or yearly), top-up purchases (never expire), and free grants (sign-up bonus). Subscription credits are consumed first, then top-ups, then free credits.

3

Know when credits are consumed

A credit is consumed when the AI successfully processes a page. Credits are not consumed when technical errors occur (network failures, auth issues) or when the page cannot be read.

4

Check your balance

Your current credit balance is shown in the extension popup. It updates in real-time after every extraction. You can also see your usage history in the extension.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if I run out of credits?

You will see an "insufficient credits" message. You can top up instantly or upgrade your plan to get more credits.

Do unused subscription credits roll over?

No — subscription credits reset each billing cycle. Top-up credits never expire and always roll over.

Why was a credit consumed when zero profiles were found?

Credits are consumed per page processed by the AI, regardless of how many profiles are found. If the page genuinely has no profile data, the AI still analyses it. Only technical failures (network errors, auth issues) are credit-free.

Which credits are consumed first?

Subscription credits are consumed first, then top-up credits, then free credits. This preserves your never-expiring top-ups as long as possible.
