What is an Agent Skill?
An Agent Skill is a reusable instruction package an AI agent can load to perform a specific task. It follows the open Agent Skills format: a folder containing a SKILL.md file with YAML frontmatter and Markdown instructions, plus optional references, assets, or scripts.
What is a SKILL.md file?
SKILL.md is the single required file in an Agent Skill. It starts with YAML frontmatter (at least a name and description) followed by Markdown instructions that tell a compatible agent how to perform the task.
Are Agent Skills the same as prompts?
No. A prompt is a single, one-off instruction you type into a chat. An Agent Skill is a structured, reusable package: it defines the task, the required inputs, the rules, the process, and the output format, so the same workflow runs consistently every time and can be shared, versioned, and edited.
Which AI agents support Agent Skills?
Support depends on the AI application or agent you use. The format is an open standard, and every skill remains readable as ordinary Markdown, so you can adapt it even if your tool does not load skills automatically.
Are ProfileSpider Agent Skills free?

Can I edit a downloaded skill?

Do these skills send data to ProfileSpider?
No. Downloading or copying a skill file does not send any prospect data to ProfileSpider. What happens after you load it depends entirely on the AI service you use it with.
Can I use a skill without ProfileSpider?
Yes. The skills work on any compatible lead, prospect, or company data, regardless of where it came from. ProfileSpider is one convenient way to produce that structured input.
